Poker is related to philanthropy, as indicated by the fact that several poker players give generously to charitable institutions and that charity poker tournaments are very popular. The WPT Foundation and CHOP will host their annual charity poker tournament, called the All In for Kids Poker Tournament, to raise funds for treatment and research on dangerous allergies among kids. Although the tickets cost $2,500, players can qualify for only $100 by taking part in a qualifier satellite, scheduled to be held at 6:00 p.m. ET on October 26. Winners will receive a free entry to the charity poker tournament, a guest pass, and access to the open bar for both the winner and his/her companion. In addition, players who buy into the qualifier will receive a no-deposit bonus of $100, which means that they will get back their buy-in.
The above-mentioned qualifier tournament is part of the WPT Steps, a promotion that gives players a chance to win World Poker Tour (WPT) seats. It is a series of Sit N Go tournaments with 0 - 6 steps. Players can buy into Step 0 with just 10 points and work their way up to Step 6. Players can also directly buy into Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, Step 4, Step 5, and Step 6 for $1, $5, $20, $100, $500, and $2,000, respectively. The top first, second, and third players of Step 6 will win WPT seats worth $3,500 each.
