Americas Cardroom squashes the dreams of BOT providers

Poker Rakeback
Wednesday, 16 October 2019 00:00

Leading US-facing online poker site Americas Cardroom recently unleashed a new poker product, revamping its software with under-the-hood enhancements and new designs to please players. But not everyone is happy.

Sure, poker players have overwhelmingly responded positively to the new software. But BOT providers are angry.

It turns out that the new software is incompatible with several BOTs, and BOT providers have either completely delisted WPN as a compatible network for their BOT products, or they’ve reported that they’re trying to fix it (something that Americas Cardroom is well suited to stay ahead of).

Online BOT provider War Bot has removed Americas Cardroom from its list of supported sites, and Shanky technologies ( and Kraken, Medusa ( have reported that their BOTS aren’t working.

This is a big deal for online poker players. BOTs have plagued the industry for years. And recently this year, Americas Cardroom acknowledged the presence of BOTs and player frustrations. They even instituted a policy to pay players affected by BOTs through an open and transparent notification and payment system.

To date, Americas Cardroom has banned 12 players and refunded over $450,000 to players affected by BOTs at the ACR tables.

But dealing with the aftermath of BOTs wasn’t enough. Americas Cardroom redeveloped their software to battle BOTs and put a team in place to detect and counteract them.

Being BOT-unfriendly comes at the perfect time. Americas Cardroom’s community is growing at a rapid pace, thanks to the recent $5 Million Venom. Held this summer, it was the biggest poker tournament ever offered for US players. And it was just the beginning.

On November 27th, the US-facing online poker site hosts the $6 Million Venom. The multi-day event features a $1 million first place prize and promises to break world records once again. If you’re in, you can win your spot through $0 Step tournaments, via satellites, and through several other methods. All the info is available at Americas Cardroom. BOTs need not apply
